My Life. I’m:

A mother: I have two young sons, Conall and Lorcan. They’re the most beautiful boys I know and they have driven me to the edge more times than I’d like to admit to. Parenting is my toughest creative challenge to date. Check back in in around thirty years to know if it was a success.

A wife, sister and daughter: My husband and my brother are among my best friends. My parents still live in Ireland, where my heart stays.

A reader: I read every day, or almost every day. One of my earliest memories is discovering I could read some of the words in the bulletin handed out at Mass. It was printed in bright red ink and I can remember the smell of the paper; a lifelong kink.

A Virgo: I’m embarrassed to admit how much I like astrology. it makes me sound nuts, but I do identify with many Virgo traits. I’m a hard worker, believe in the service of others and an obsessive nitpicker. A total catch!

A born creative: I write about the bigger things that bring us all together. Love, loss, joy, destruction, creation. Often, I think the only way I know myself is through everything I read and write. I write to know who I am.

I write The Primordial Scoop, a newsletter community where I share essays about the bigger things that bring us all together - life, work, people and place.

The primordial, if you will.
